The writer identifies trending topics, monitors social media conversations, and transforms breaking news, viral stories, and political developments into high-impact and analytical digital journalism. Operating in a fast-paced newsroom, the role contributes directly to traffic growth, reader engagement, and overall editorial performance of the ePaper platform.

  • Research, and write timely and engaging analytical stories for the ePaper platform.
  • Monitor social media and digital trends to identify viral and high-interest content opportunities.
  • Ensure accuracy through thorough fact-checking and verification before writing and submitting.
  • Analyze Kenyan and global political developments with clarity and context.
  • Collaborate with editors and other writers to maintain consistent tone, quality, and publishing efficiency.
  • Uphold editorial integrity, ethical journalism standards, and digital publishing best practices.
  • Proven experience in digital journalism.
  • Strong understanding of digital audiences, content analytics, and SEO principles.
  • Deep knowledge of social media platforms, audience engagement strategies, and viral content dynamics.
  • Solid grasp of Kenyan and global political landscapes.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong research and fact-verification skills.
  • Creative thinker with strong news judgment and the ability to identify compelling digital angles quickly.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven digital newsroom environment.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field from a recognized institution.
