Their key responsibilities include:
- Research, and write timely and engaging analytical stories for the ePaper platform.
- Monitor social media and digital trends to identify viral and high-interest content opportunities.
- Ensure accuracy through thorough fact-checking and verification before writing and submitting.
- Analyze Kenyan and global political developments with clarity and context.
- Collaborate with editors and other writers to maintain consistent tone, quality, and publishing efficiency.
- Uphold editorial integrity, ethical journalism standards, and digital publishing best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in digital journalism.
- Strong understanding of digital audiences, content analytics, and SEO principles.
- Deep knowledge of social media platforms, audience engagement strategies, and viral content dynamics.
- Solid grasp of Kenyan and global political landscapes.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong research and fact-verification skills.
- Creative thinker with strong news judgment and the ability to identify compelling digital angles quickly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven digital newsroom environment.
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field from a recognized institution.
