Ministry of Education, Science and Technology
The Ministry of Education, Science &Technology (MoEST) of Kenya oversees national policies and programs to ensure access to quality, affordable education from early childhood to higher learning, including research and innovation . Rooted in the Constitution (Chapter Four, Articles 43–59), its mandate spans basic and tertiary education, curriculum development, teacher management, examinations, and integration of science, technology, and innovation into national development .
MoEST is organized into two state departments—Education and Science & Technology—with directorates covering areas such as higher education, quality assurance, technical and vocational training, and ICT integration . It operates under the vision of a globally competitive education system and a mission to coordinate quality education and embed innovation for sustainable development (education.go.ke).
