It leases electric buses—initially imported and now locally assembled at the Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers plant in Thika—through an innovative Pay-As-You-Drive model . BasiGo has deployed multiple BYD K6 and E9 Kubwa models in Nairobi, as well as rolled out charging depots in Buruburu, Embakasi, and Kikuyu . Backed by investments totalling over KSh 543 million (~$4 million) from CFAO, BII, and others, the firm aims to deliver 1,000 buses across Kenya and Rwanda, cutting emissions and modernizing public transit .
