Job Description

Medical Laboratory Technologist III (MCPSB/06/2025/308) JG – H

Machakos, Kenya

Job Group ‘H’

Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable

Allowances as per SRC guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Decontaminating working benches
  2. Receiving and scrutinizing laboratory requisition forms and specimens

iii.        Preparing clients for collection of specimens

  1. Receiving, collecting, labelling and registering of specimens
  2. Disaggregating specimens
  3. Writing and recording of results

vii.       Dispatching the results for use in clinical management

viii.     Preparing stains

  1. Performing blood grouping
  2. Issuing blood and blood products to peripheral health facilities
  3. Storing blood products according to their requirements

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

  1. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science or any other equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Boad.
  2. Registration certificate issued by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB)

iii.        Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board

  1. Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
