Water Resources Officer II (Research and Data Management) – 5 Posts
Job Summary
- This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
Research and Data Management Function
- The cadre is responsible for implementation of regulations, development and review of policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
- This will be undertaken through integrated data management for equitable and sustainable allocation of water resources.
Duties and Responsibilities will entail:
- Compiling the data;
- Validation of the data;
- Identifying the data gaps;
- Updating of the database.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Hydrology, Soil, Water and Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Geology, Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and
- Proficiency in computer applications.
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve for a probationary period of six (6) months thereafter convert to Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service. Remuneration will be subject to the existing terms approved by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
