Job Description
Supervisors
Job Purpose
The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within their assigned section of Kipchimatt Supermarket, ensuring smooth service delivery, maintaining high customer service standards, monitoring staff performance, and achieving set sales and operational targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Staff Supervision & Coordination
-
Assign daily tasks and shifts to department staff.

Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.
-
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
2. Customer Service & Experience
-
Ensure customers receive prompt, courteous, and professional service.
-
Handle customer complaints or escalate issues to the Branch Manager when necessary.
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked department.
3. Stock & Inventory Control
-
Oversee stock levels, ordering, and replenishment for the section.
-
Ensure correct product pricing, labeling, and display.
-
Monitor stock expiry dates and coordinate timely removal of expired/damaged items.
4. Sales & Performance Monitoring
-
Track daily sales performance against set targets.
-
Implement sales promotion activities in line with management directives.
-
Identify opportunities to boost sales and improve operational efficiency.
5. Compliance & Reporting
-
Enforce safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
-
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Prepare daily or weekly performance reports for submission to the Branch Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Diploma in Business Management, Sales & Marketing, Retail Management, or related field (Degree is an advantage).

At least 2–3 years’ experience in retail supervision or a similar role.

Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-
Good knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and inventory control.

Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, POS systems).
