Privatization Authority

Privatization Authority is a State corporation in Kenya established under the Privatization Act to oversee and implement the government’s privatization program. The Authority is responsible for coordinating the sale, restructuring, and commercialization of public enterprises to improve efficiency, competitiveness, and economic growth. It works with government ministries, investors, and stakeholders to ensure transparent and accountable privatization processes. The Authority also advises the government on privatization policies and strategies aimed at reducing the financial burden of state-owned enterprises. Through its activities, it promotes private sector participation, attracts investment, and supports sustainable development within Kenya’s economy and public sector reforms.
