JOB SUMMARY
The SACCO Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently driving Sacco vehicles as required, while ensuring that the assigned vehicle is well-maintained and in good working condition. The driver will also support administrative and logistical operations as directed, maintain high standards of professionalism, and uphold the SACCO’s values when dealing with stakeholder and the public.
Duties and responsibilities
- Driving Sacco vehicles.
- Ensuring the vehicle is clean and in good condition;
- Ensuring that the vehicles are sent for service when due;
- Reporting promptly and to the right authorities in accordance with the Traffic Act any accident in which the Sacco vehicle is involved;
- Ensuring that the vehicle insurance and licenses ensuring compliance with traffic act and any other traffic authority
- Carrying out routine checks on the vehicles cooling oil electrical and brake systems tyre pressure etc.
- Detecting malfunctioning of vehicles system;
- Custody of vehicle keys and ensuring that the keys are returned to the administrative office for night custody;
- Custody of work tickets and ensuring that the tickets are updated for every journey;
- Assisting in internal/external mail delivery when assigned to do so;
- Monitoring the car engine daily and reporting any faults to the Administration Officer; and fuelling the vehicle.
- Maintaining an updated vehicle log book
- Performing other duties that may be assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Academic Qualifications
- Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (C-) Minus
- Valid and clean driver’s license
- Age 30 – 40 years.
Experience:
At least 5 years continuous driving experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Drive manual and automatic vehicles
- Be a holder of institution PSV license
- Should have passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade 1
- Possess a valid certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police;
- Should demonstrate high level of integrity
- professional competence as reflected in work performance and results
