Head of Operations and Technology

Job Purpose

  • As the Head of Operations and Technology, you will play a critical role in leading and optimizing the operational and technological aspects of our investment management business. Reporting directly to Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing unit trust operations, investment operations, IT support, and IT projects, ensuring seamless service delivery and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee unit trust operations, investment operations, IT support, and IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize operational processes, streamline workflows, and enhance efficiency across all areas of responsibility.
  • Manage and mentor a team of operations and technology professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable plans and technological solutions.
  • Drive the execution of IT projects, from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of operational systems and technology infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices in unit trust operations, investment operations, and IT service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, service providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective service delivery and compliance.

Minimum Experience and Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in the investments or related industry working in investment operations and overseeing information technology projects.
  • Experience of technology operations management and the use of new technologies to improve cost effectiveness and performance
  • Experience in optimizing operational processes and workflows with a view of enhancing efficiency, service delivery and output.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of strategic planning, implementing and managing IT projects.
  • Leadership experience managing operational and/or IT projects in the financial sector is an added advantage.
