Job Description
Procurement Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and review the procurement and asset disposal plans in line with the law, manage their implementation by user departments, and advise/report on adherence to the plan.
- Lead in reviewing and updating the Supply Chain Policy and Procedures Manual.
- Oversee and maintain an updated and approved list of the Corporation’s registered suppliers.
- Prepare reports required in relation to the procurement of goods, works, and services, as well as contract management.
- Develop the procurement strategy and reporting in line with policies, processes, and procedures.
- Develop various supply chain plans, including risk management and contractor performance measurement plans, to increase efficiencies.
- Provide Secretariat services for the tender evaluation and other Committees in line with the Procurement and Disposal Act.
- Prepare statutory and other administrative reports as per guidelines.
- Coordinate the preparation of contract documents and purchase orders.
- Resolve procurement issues with suppliers, contractors, and consultants; develop capacity-building programs within the Corporation to ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Serve as the custodian of the Corporation’s Procurement Plan.
Requirements for the Job
- Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement and Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration (Supplies Management Option), Economics, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years in a Senior Management position.
- Full membership to a professional body, either KISM or CIPS, and in good standing.
- Certified Supplies Practitioner by KISM.
- Undertaken a management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

- Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA);
- Current Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
- Current Report from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
