The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) is a globally respected, non‑profit scientific institution founded in 1993 and headquartered in Bogor, Indonesia. It merged with World Agroforestry (ICRAF) in 2019 to form CIFOR‑ICRAF, a CGIAR research center dedicated to advancing sustainable management of forests and landscapes . CIFOR conducts multidisciplinary research, capacity development, and policy engagement across thematic areas like climate change, gender justice, food security, and biodiversity (CGIAR, gbif.org). With regional hubs in Nairobi, Kenya, among other global locations, CIFOR works with governments, communities, and partners in over 50 countries to deliver science-based solutions enhancing livelihoods, equity, and ecosystem health.
