ClimateWorkx Program

ClimateWorkX is a government-led initiative in Kenya aimed at addressing environmental challenges while providing employment opportunities for youth. Launched in September 2024, the program focuses on rehabilitating critical ecosystems, particularly urban river corridors, and creating job opportunities for Kenyan youth.

The initiative has employed over 21,000 youths in Nairobi County alone, with plans to expand to all 47 counties, targeting 200,000 youth nationwide. Participants engage in activities such as cleaning and restoring rivers, tree planting, solid waste management, and infrastructure development. The program not only contributes to environmental conservation but also empowers youth by providing them with meaningful employment and skills development opportunities.
