Company Description

Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital

Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, founded in 1947 in Muthaiga, Nairobi, is the region’s premier pediatric institution, serving infants to young adults up to 21 years (gerties.org). With a 100‑bed main facility and 15 satellite clinics, it treats over 300,000 outpatients and admits around 9,000 inpatients annually. Licensed as a Level‑5 tertiary referral centre, it offers preventive, emergency, medical, surgical, and rehabilitative care across more than 20 pediatric specialties. Notably, it’s the first children’s hospital in Sub‑Saharan Africa accredited by Joint Commission International. Supported by a strong research and training arm, robust ethical oversight, and community outreach through its foundation, it continually advances child health across Eastern Africa.
