Company Description

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is Kenya’s constitutional body responsible for conducting and supervising elections and referenda. Established under Article 88 of the Constitution, it ensures free, fair, transparent, and credible electoral processes. IEBC manages voter registration, maintains the voters’ roll, regulates political party nominations, and conducts boundary delimitation. It also oversees the settlement of electoral disputes, excluding those related to election petitions and disputes after declaration of results. Through civic and voter education, IEBC promotes democratic participation. Its mandate is crucial in safeguarding Kenya’s democracy, upholding electoral integrity, and fostering public confidence in the country’s governance system.
