Judicial Service Commission
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is a constitutional body established under Article 171 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010. Its main mandate is to promote and ensure the independence and accountability of the judiciary. The JSC is responsible for recruiting, vetting, and disciplining judges and judicial officers, as well as advising the President on judicial appointments. It also develops policies for the efficient administration of justice and ensures professionalism within the judiciary. By safeguarding judicial integrity and transparency, the Judicial Service plays a crucial role in strengthening the rule of law and promoting public confidence in Kenya’s justice system.
