Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS)

Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) is the principal government agency responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating official statistical information in Kenya. Established under the Statistics Act, KNBS provides reliable data that supports government planning, policymaking, research, and decision-making. The organization conducts major national surveys and censuses, including the Population and Housing Census, and produces statistics on the economy, employment, education, health, agriculture, and other key sectors. KNBS works with government institutions, businesses, researchers, and development partners to promote evidence-based planning. Its statistics help monitor national development programmes and provide valuable insights into Kenya’s social and economic progress.
