Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited, established in 1911, is the country’s oldest foreign bank and part of the global Standard Chartered Group (sc.com). Listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange since 1989, it operates ~34 branches and over 100 ATMs, targeting corporate, private, and select retail clients . In FY 2023, it posted a net profit of KSh 13.8 billion (a 33 % increase) and reported strong returns on equity (~20.3 %) alongside low NPLs (~6 %) .
Digital-first, more than 90 % of transactions are channelled online, backed by innovative app features. In FY 2024, sustainable finance revenue grew to KSh 3 billion, and the bank achieved major green milestones like planting 616,000 trees.
