Audit Officer

An Audit Officer is a professional responsible for examining financial records, operational processes, and internal controls within an organization to ensure accuracy, compliance, and accountability. They help organizations detect fraud, minimize financial risks, and improve operational efficiency by reviewing financial statements, transactions, and company procedures.

Audit Officers work in government institutions, banks, NGOs, insurance companies, private firms, and public corporations. Their duties include preparing audit reports, assessing compliance with financial regulations, monitoring internal control systems, verifying accounting records, and recommending improvements to management. They may also assist in investigating financial irregularities and ensuring organizations comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Professional certifications such as CPA(K), ACCA, or CIA are often an added advantage.
