Job Description
Cadet Officers – Machine Operators
SALARY AND ALLOWANCES As existing in the NYS salary Scale
MEDICAL COVER SHA Scheme of Civil Servants
TERMS OF SERVICE Permanent & Pensionable
The prospective candidates willing to join the National Youth Service MUST meet the following General, Academic and Professional qualifications:
General Requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Cadets must possess Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of KCSE grade of C+ (plus)
- Minimum of KCSE grade C- (Minus) for Diploma
- Privates must possess a minimum of KCSE grade D (+) and above and MUST have NYS Discharge Certificate
- Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card (ID) and KRA PIN Certificate;
- Be between 18 – 28 years
- Have no criminal record
- Candidates must be medically fit
- Successful Candidates MUST undergo NYS Paramilitary training for nine (9) months at NYS Training College
- Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
- Meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution
Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Be in possession of Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive, Plant and Machinery Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
