Job Description
Chief Physical Planner – 2 Posts
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:~
- Initiating, preparing and monitoring the implementation of sub county and local physical development plans;
- Providing advice on development applications and development control matters;
- Implementing and providing feedback on physical planning guidelines and standards;
- Collecting, collating and analyzing urban and regional planning data; preparing action plans for specific projects such as residential housing schemes, shopping centers, industrial estates and recreational facilities;
- Undertaking studies on matters relating to physical planning at the regional and local levels; setting agenda and convening physical planning liaison committee meetings;
- Keeping record of deliberations and communicating decisions of the physical planning liaison committees;
- Managing of physical planning data.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: ~
- Served in the grade of Senior Physical Planner for a minimum period of three (3) years;
- Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines:~ Urban and Regional Planning, Veh Planning or Town Planning from a recognized institution;
- Membership to the Kenya Institute of Planners or Architectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter);
- Certificate in computer application skills; and
- Demonstrated merit and shown ability as reflected in work performance and results.
