Job Description

Data Assistant e-Voucher Animal Identification Registration Vaccination

Reports To

Field Coordinator / Livestock Officer / Project Manager

Job Purpose

The Data Assistant will support the implementation of the e-Voucher Animal Identification Registration and Vaccination Program by collecting, verifying, entering, and managing livestock and farmer data. The position is responsible for ensuring accurate registration of livestock farmers, animal identification records, vaccination data, and beneficiary information within the project’s digital management system.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection and Registration

Vaccination Data Management

  • Record animal vaccination activities conducted by veterinary teams.
  • Update vaccination records in the digital database.
  • Verify vaccination details including vaccine type, date administered, animal identification number, and location.
  • Assist in tracking vaccinated animals and generating vaccination reports.

Data Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular data validation and verification exercises.
  • Identify and correct data inconsistencies and duplicates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital records.
  • Ensure compliance with project data management standards and protocols.

Field Operations Support

  • Provide technical support during livestock registration and vaccination campaigns.
  • Assist farmers in understanding the e-Voucher registration process.
  • Coordinate with veterinary officers, livestock extension officers, and community leaders.
  • Support field monitoring and reporting activities.

Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly registration and vaccination reports.
  • Generate summaries of beneficiary registrations and vaccination coverage.
  • Submit data collection progress reports to supervisors.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of project records.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Data Management, Community Development, or a related field.
  • Experience in data collection, data entry, or database management is an added advantage.
  • Experience working in livestock, agriculture, or community-based projects will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Experience using mobile data collection tools such as KoboCollect, ODK, SurveyCTO, or CommCare is desirable.

Working Conditions

The position requires extensive field travel and interaction with livestock farmers, veterinary officers, and community stakeholders. The Data Assistant may be required to work in remote locations and under tight project timelines.
