Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all mining programs are coordinated and implemented effectively
  • Liaison and/or management of the mining management task force activities.
  • Ensure that intergovernmental administrative issues are handled properly and in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the development of budgets for the administration department
  • Supervision of staff in the department for effective work performance.
  • Facilitate training and staff development functions for staff in the department.
  • Analyse effectiveness of administrative policies, rules and regulations in the county
  • Communicate any changes to prevailing administration policies to all affected county departments
  • Supervise the implementation of county administrative policies and procedures on day-to-day basis.
  • Monitor commitments, expenditure and reimbursements in the department for compliance with approved budgets.
  • Advise authorized officer (Chief Officer) on delegated powers and ensure they are properly implemented
  • Facilitate the audit of the departmental activities as per agreed audit cycle.
  • Administer and control preparation of required departmental reports
  • Performing any other duty as may be delegate from time to time.

Requirement for Appointment

Be a Kenyan citizen;

Be in possession of Bachelor of Applied Science, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or any relevant degree from a university recognized in Kenya,

Eight ( 8 ) years of service of relevant experience in a comparable position from a reputable organization.

Senior Management course from a recognized institution

Previous experience in the sector including evaluation of mineral properties, and financial, taxation is an asset,

Proven track record of leading and managing teams;

Ability to think strategically;

Highly developed interpersonal skills;

Motivation and organization skills;

Demonstrated team playing abilities

A strong network of mining industry contacts in Kenya;
