Hydrographer II – 4 Posts at Public Service Commission Kenya (PSCK)

For appointment to this grade,
a candidate must have a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines:- Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems, Hydrographic Survey or equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at his level will work under the guidance and supervision of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities will include:-
- Carrying out single beam echo sounding and sextant measurements;
- Computing data for secondary ports approaches;
- Conducting horizontal control surveys;
- Undertaking coastal lining surveys, tidal zoning
- tidal readings; and
- Measuring water temperature and salinity
