JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for verifying records posted by other workers, and checking figures and documents to ensure they are accurate and coded properly. Makes notations of error for future corrections.
Duties and responsibilities
- Working hand in hand with Internal Audit officer
- Verifying accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers:
- Checking and verifying data entered into the system on a daily basis to confirm its validity and authenticity.
- Correcting errors or lists discrepancies for adjustment.
- Keeping financial records complete, as well as computing and classifying information for that purpose.
- Checking for correct entry, proper codes and mathematical accuracy in loans interest, penalties, and any other formulas affecting the institution’s accounts.
- Verify trial balances, status of accounts and loans to make sure payments are up-to-date, inventory records, expense reports and purchase orders.
- Assisting the Internal Audit Officer in conducting checks in branches and transactions verifications
- Any other duties that may be assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Academic Qualifications
- Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (C) Plain
- Minimum CPA section 11 or ACCA qualification
- Age 28 – 37 years
Experience:
- 2 to 3 years in a similar job
Skills and Competencies
- Computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
- High level of integrity
- Should have Risk Management Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
