Job Description

Principal Internal Auditor, KICD Grade (1 POST)

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –

 

  1. Undertaking special audit investigations; preparing audit operational plans; leading audit teams in implementing audit work plans;
  2. Implementing audit fieldwork strategy;
  • Carrying out risk assessment and develop management guidelines;
  1. Carrying out audit follow-ups on implementation of recommendations; preparing
  2. audit reports; and
  3. Interpretation of financial control and management resolution of the

 

  • Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Commerce (Accounting
  2. option); Commerce (Finance option); Business Administration (Accounting option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination,n or Part III of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  1. At least 8 years’ relevant experience and 3 years in a supervisory role;
  2. Be a Certified Information Systems Auditor (C.I.S.A);
  3. Be Registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK);
  • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
  1. Computer literacy;
  2. Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and
  3. Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the
