Job Description

Registered Nurse I (Anesthesia Nurse) MCPSB/08/2025/328 Job Group “K”

Machakos, Kenya

Terms of Service: 3 years contract

Duties and Responsibilities.

  1. Conducting patient assessments
  2. Educating patients about their surgery and recovery

iii. Preparing anesthetic for patients

  1. Administering medication
  2. Monitoring a patient’s vitals and adjusting anesthesia levels during surgery
  3. Overseeing the patient’s safety as they recover from anesthesia

vii. Working with other medical staff to develop pain management plans

Requirement for appointment.

  1. Must have served for five (5) years in a comparable position in Public Service or the Private sector.
  2. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health   Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing /Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution.

iii. Higher Diploma in Kenya Registered Anaesthetic Nursing, or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

  1. Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  2. Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya, and
  3. Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
