Senior Chef

Job Descriptions
Job Descriptions at this level will entail:-
- Developing and reviewing menus;
- Supervising food preparation (mise-en-place) and production;
- Maintaining stock items for production;
- Receiving produce as per specifications;
- Forecasting food production needs;
- Maintaining food production records;
- Monitoring work orders on equipment;
- Taking stock of the food stores; and
- Supervising staff working under the officer.
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –
- At least nine (9) years cumulative relevant work experience, three (3) at the grade of Chef I or in a comparable position;
- Diploma in either pastry and bakery, culinary art, food production (both mass food production and a lar carte) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certificate of medical examination in line with the Food, Drugs and Chemical Substance Act;
- Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
