Job Description
Senior ICT Officer II- Kenya-AIST Grade 7
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –
- Providing guidance and procedures for operations and maintenance of computing systems (hardware, software and networks) and data communication systems;
- Preparing and monitoring of maintenance procedures;
- Coding/writing and testing computer programs;
- Implementation of information systems;
- Performing technical and systems documentation;
- Planning, designing and implementing the Institute corporate databases;
- Performing database backups, monitoring, tuning and data recovery procedures;
- Ensuring database security and assisting Computer Programmers with database issues;
- Controlling and monitoring database usage; and
- Development and maintenance of the Institute website.
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: –
- Served for a cumulative period of eight (8) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been in the grade of Information Communication Technology Officer I or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- A Master’s degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage;
- Strong knowledge of ERP software, including relevant certification (Eg. Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate);
- Proficiency in SQL, database management and programming languages relevant to ERP Customization;
- Knowledge of data protection laws is an added advantage.
