Job Description

Senior Lecturer – Pharmacy – 5 Posts

Duties and responsibilities at this level include: -Teaching and evaluating relevant subjects in their discipline areas; Preparing schemes of work, lesson notes and lesson plans; Assessing students in clinical areas; Guiding and counselling students on matters related to their academics; Inducting new trainers and trainee lecturers; Implementing competence-based curriculum; Conducting research in the area of specialisation and supervising students on research projects; Developing at least three (3) teaching manuals; Developing and reviewing policies, standards, systems and processes relevant to curricula (when deployed as Curriculum Officer); Mentoring and coaching staff on curriculum development; and Conducting basic, applied and action research to address knowledge gaps related to curriculum development.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institution;
  • Valid practicing licence from the relevant regulatory body where applicable;
  • Been registered by Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB);
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
