Job Description

Senior Quality Assurance Officer ( Quality Assurance) Job Grade Cue 5

Duties and responsibilities will entail: –  

  • Developing schedules for quality audits and harmonization of minimum standards for academic programmes;
  • Identifying and liaising with peer reviewers on external quality auditing and harmonization of
  • minimum standards for academic programmes;
  • Making requests and following up on payment of peer reviewers;
  • Organizing training for peer reviewers;
  • Preparing reports;
  • Developing schedules for monitoring internal quality assurance systems;
  • Organizing monitoring of compliance to university education policies and standards;
  • Drafting communication/letters for feedback to stakeholders with regard to compliance; and
  • Preparing documentation to facilitate ranking of universities.

Person Specifications   
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –

  • At least four (4) years’ experience in a relevant field;  Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: – Education, Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution;  Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks form a recognized institution;
  • Membership to relevant professional bodies and in good standing;
  • Proficiency in computer applications; and
  • Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

The Successful candidates will be required to provide the following documents before the award of offer in compliance with Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010:

  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
  • Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
  • Clearance Certificate from an approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
