Job Description
Ext/A/KMF/2. Senior Security Officer – KMFRI Grade 6 (1 Post)
a. Â Â Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –
i) Â Â Develop and ensure implementation security strategies, policies and procedures
ii) Â Â Liaise with security agencies to ensure security of assets and operations
iii) Â Â Participate in the coordination of emergency procedures and contingency planning
iv) Â Â Identify potential security threats
v) Â Â Coordinate investigation of internal security breaches
vi) Â Â Maintain records of crimes and incidents
vii) Â Â Oversee security surveys and inspections
viii) Â Â Advise management on security related matters affecting operations.
b. Â Â Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
i)   Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology or its equivalent from recognized university
ii) Â Â At least three (3) years relevant work experience;
iii) Â Â Service in the Police Force or Military
iv) Â Â Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks, or equivalent, from a recognized institution
v) Â Â Demonstrated results in work performance
vi) Â Â Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
c. Â Â Key Competencies and Skills
i) Â Â Strategic thinking
ii) Â Â Organizational skills;
iii) Â Â Communication skills in both English and Kiswahili;
iv) Â Â Interpersonal skills.
d. Â Â Remuneration and Benefits
i)   Basic Salary Scale: KShs. 87,098 – KShs. 113,228 P.M.;
ii) Â Â House Allowance: KShs. 35,000 P.M.
iii) Â Â Commuter Allowance: KShs. 9,000 P.M.
iv) Â Â Annual Leave Allowance: KShs.8,500 P.A.
v) Â Â Medical Cover and Other Allowances: As provided by KMFRI
vi) Â Â Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable.

- Clearance from recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
