IGNIS Innovation Limited is seeking qualified and motivated Enumerators to support an Institutional Clean Cooking Market Assessment across Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos, Nairobi, and Makueni Counties.
IGNIS INNOVATION AFRICA (Ignis) is a Kenya-based kitchen solutions company serving institutional clients across the African continent. The organization focuses on delivering clean cooking through steam-based kitchen systems for large institutions such as schools, hospitals, and correctional facilities. Ignis designs and supplies efficient, tailored solutions that promote health, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness at scale.
The company also provides commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment for clients in hospitality, food service, and industrial sectors. Team members contribute to improving institutional cooking environments while advancing clean energy and climate goals.
Call for Enumerators
The assessment forms part of the rollout of CleanCookIQ, a digital platform designed to accelerate the transition to clean cooking by connecting institutions, financiers, technology providers, and ecosystem partners.
Enumerators will be responsible for collecting data from schools and other institutions, assessing cooking energy practices, and identifying opportunities for clean cooking adoption.
Assisgnment Period:
- 5 working days of field deployment
- 2-day mandatory training prior to deployment

Applicants must be residents in the county they are applying for.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct institutional interviews using KoboToolbox.
- Collect accurate data on cooking fuels, energy consumption, infrastructure, and institutional readiness.
- Capture GPS coordinates and photographs of kitchens and cooking facilities.
- Engage professionally with school administrators and institutional decision-makers.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained before interviews.
- Submit completed surveys and supporting documentation daily.
- Escalate high-potential institutions to the CleanCookIQ team in accordance with project guidelines.
- Meet daily targets and maintain data quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Prior experience in field data collection, surveys, or research.
- Proficiency in smartphone-based data collection tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Ability to travel independently within the assigned county.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using KoboToolbox, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with the education sector.
- Experience in market research, sales, or community engagement.
- Knowledge of energy, climate, or development projects is an added advantage.
