Job Description
National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) Jobs in Kenya
The National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) is one of Kenya’s flagship agricultural development initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development with support from the World Bank. The project aims to transform smallholder farming into commercially viable and market-oriented agriculture through investments in value chains, irrigation, farmer organizations, digital agriculture, agribusiness development, and access to financial services. NAVCDP operates across 33 counties in Kenya and has already reached millions of farmers through various interventions.
NAVCDP jobs are highly sought after because they provide opportunities for agricultural professionals, agribusiness experts, extension officers, project coordinators, finance specialists, monitoring and evaluation officers, procurement professionals, and young agripreneurs to contribute to Kenya’s agricultural transformation agenda. Employment opportunities are offered at both national and county levels depending on project needs. The project follows equal opportunity employment practices and recruits qualified candidates based on education, skills, and experience relevant to the advertised positions.
Working with NAVCDP offers several benefits, including exposure to large-scale agricultural development projects, collaboration with county governments and international development partners, professional growth opportunities, and the chance to directly impact the livelihoods of Kenyan farmers. The project focuses on climate-smart agriculture, value addition, market access, irrigation development, and strengthening farmer producer organizations.
