Public Service Commission
The Public Service Commission (PSC) of Kenya is an independent constitutional body established under Article 233 of the Kenyan Constitution, tasked with managing human resources across the national and local public service . It comprises a Chairperson, Vice‑Chairperson, and seven commissioners appointed by the President with Parliament’s approval, supported by a Secretary as the CEO (klrc.go.ke).
Its core responsibilities include establishing and abolishing public offices, appointing and disciplining civil servants, promoting constitutional values, evaluating service effectiveness, developing staff capacity, advising on conditions of service, and adjudicating county‑level appeals. Through its work, the PSC ensures an efficient, ethical, and citizen‑focused public service.
