Chuka University is a public university located in Chuka Municipality, Tharaka-Nithi County, Kenya, along the Nairobi–Meru Highway on the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya. The institution was established as a constituent college of Egerton University in 2007 before becoming a fully chartered public university on 8 January 2013.

The university offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes across areas including education, business, agriculture, environmental studies, humanities, science, engineering and technology. Chuka University is also recognized for its focus on environmental and renewable energy studies. Its mission emphasizes quality education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship and community outreach.
