The Kiambu County Government, led by Governor Kimani Wamatangi, operates via an Executive (Governor + CECs) and a County Assembly under its third CIDP (2023–27), backed by a KSh 168 billion budget targeting health, infrastructure, education, water, housing, and digitization (kiambu.go.ke). Emphasizing transformation, it launched a Sh1.5 billion Kiambu Afya healthcare plan—building eight Level 5 and 13 Level 3 hospitals—and enrolled 300,000 residents in universal health coverage. The government also initiated major rural road rehabilitation and earmarked KSh 10 billion to develop Thika into a smart industrial city. Digitization efforts include an ERP system for transparent, efficient service delivery .
