Office Of The Registrar Of Political Parties

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is a State Office established under Article 260 of the Constitution of Kenya and the Political Parties Act, 2011. Its main mandate is to register, regulate, monitor, investigate and supervise political parties in Kenya while administering the Political Parties Fund. The office also maintains the register of political parties and their symbols, verifies party membership, oversees compliance with legal requirements, and investigates complaints involving political parties. ORPP plays an important role in promoting well-governed political parties, internal democracy, transparency and accountability, thereby supporting Kenya’s democratic multiparty political system.
