Company Description

Turkana County Government

The Turkana County Government, established under Kenya’s 2010 Constitution and operational since March 2013, serves a population nearing one million across its vast 77,000 km² territory. Led by Governor Jeremiah Ekamais Lomorukai Napotikan and Deputy Governor John Lopeyok Erus, the government operates from Lodwar and comprises ten ministries including Finance; Education, Sports & Social Protection; Infrastructure; Trade, Gender & Youth Affairs; Tourism & Natural Resources; and Disaster Management (turkana.go.ke).

These departments helm critical services: early childhood education, vocational training, roads and transport, trade and cooperative development, cultural tourism, and disaster resilience . Harnessing its rich culture and natural resources—including the annual Tobong’u Lore festival and emerging geothermal, solar, and oil prospects—the county drives economic growth and sustainable development.
