Turkana County Government

The Turkana County Government is one of Kenya’s 47 devolved governments established under the 2010 Constitution to improve service delivery and promote sustainable development. Headquartered in Lodwar, the county government manages key sectors including healthcare, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, water, education, roads, trade, and tourism. Turkana is known for its vast livestock resources, Lake Turkana, and emerging oil and renewable energy potential. The county government is committed to improving infrastructure, expanding access to clean water, supporting economic opportunities, enhancing public services, promoting peace and security, and encouraging transparency, accountability, and public participation in governance and development.
