Job Description

ECDE Teacher III – 60 Posts at Kiambu County Government

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Classteaching;
  • Role modelling,guidance and counselling, mentoring and motivation of the learners;
  • Preparing reports:
  • Ensuring the safety and security of thelearners;
  • Identifying, initiating, developing and facilitating play learning activities that will enable learners enjoy living and learning through play;
  • Developing relevant play/learning materials for all learners;
  • Preparing and developing schemes of work, lesson plans and daily programmes of activities, assessment and evaluation of learners’ progress and keeping professional records.

Requirements for appointment

OR

  • Kenya Certificateof Secondary Education (KCSE] minimum grade D+ (Plus], or its approved equivalent, plus Certificate in EarlyChildhood Development and Education offered by KNEC or Ministryof Education or its approved equivalent;
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education offered by KNEC or its approved equivalent:
  • Registered by the Teachers Service Commission;
  • A Certificate in Computer Applications;
  • Two (2] years of relevant work experience;
  • 7. Satisfy the requirements of ChapterSix of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

NOTE:

ALL applications should be hand delivered and dropped in the specific box provided at County Public Service Board offices, Room 103, first floor at Thika Sub-County offices between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on weekdays.

Applications should reach the Board on or before Friday, 29th May, 2026.

ONLY Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original identity card, academic and professional certificates and submit clearance from the following institutions:

  • Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  • Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
