Job Description

Supply Chain Manager – Nairobi, Kenya

The successful candidate will lead and optimize the end‑to‑end supply chain for the company in Kenya, with responsibility for strategic sourcing, procurement of raw and non-raw materials, imports & exports, coordination operations, spot market buying, and supply chain strategy formulation. The role ensures supply continuity, cost efficiency, compliance, supplier performance, and cross-functional alignment with production and commercial needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategy, policies, and performance frameworks to drive efficiency, cost optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead sourcing of raw materials, ensuring quality, supply continuity, competitive pricing, and effective risk management.
  • Manage procurement of packaging, services, spares, and CAPEX, including tendering, contracting, and supplier performance.
  • Oversee international logistics, customs, and trade compliance while optimizing costs and export operations.
  • Manage outbound logistics, setting KPIs and ensuring cost-effective, reliable delivery through logistics partners.
  • Own supply chain budgets, driving cost control, savings, and working capital optimization.
  • Maintain supplier relationships while managing risk, compliance, and quality assurance processes.
  • Lead and develop the team, fostering cross-functional collaboration and a culture of accountability and performance.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, or related field; MBA preferred, with mandatory membership in CIPS, KISM, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years’ managerial experience in supply chain/procurement within FMCG, agriculture, manufacturing, or related sectors.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute supply chain strategies, including sourcing, logistics, and operational optimization.
  • Strong experience in strategic sourcing, international procurement, and import/export compliance.
  • Demonstrated budget ownership with strong cost control and value optimization capabilities.
  • Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP, Dynamics 365, or similar platforms.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, contracts, and supply chain risks.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with high integrity, adaptability, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
