Job Description

Tutorial Fellow – Grade XI (Human Anatomy)

Job Purpose 

  • This position is responsible for teaching undergraduate students as well as undertaking research that influence theory and practice in a given field. This will be the entry grade for Masters’ degree holders into this cadre.

Job Description 

  • Undertake teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Lead and manage teams in conducting research individually or collaboratively.
  • Disseminate research findings through publishing peer reviewed outputs and national and international learned conferences.
  • Supervise, advice and mentor postgraduate students and their research.
  • Write proposals for research and development funding.
  • Significantly contribute to the development of academic policies. Lead and coordinate research activities in their subject areas.
  • Develop collaborative links and research partnerships with other researchers and institutions within and outside the university.
  • Participate in curriculum development and review.
  • Guide and mentor early-stage researchers in their training, skills acquisition and career development in their specialization.
  • Examination preparation, administration and management.
  • Participate in administration and management of departmental programmes and activities.
  • Undertake community outreach activities.
  • Where appropriate provide leadership in the department or school.
  • Participate in the development and review of academic programmes.
  • Attending and participating in research conferences and seminars.
  • Perform any other related duty assigned from time to time.

Job Specification
Minimum requirements:- 

  • Evidence of registration of PhD;
  • An earned Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized University;
  • At least eight (8) equivalent publication points from credible refereed journal articles;
  • Be registered with relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing;
  • Evidence of Community Outreach/Engagement; and
  • Relevant knowledge, skills and competencies.

Only successful candidates shall be required to submit valid clearances from the following bodies;

  • Kenya Revenue Authority
  • Higher Education Loans Board
  • Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct)
  • Registered Credit Reference Bureau 
  • They should also provide names, telephone numbers and contact addresses of three (3) referees.
