Constituency Monitor

Job Title: Constituency Monitor
Advert No: ORPP/4/2026
Terms of Service Ten (10) months Short- term contract – January 2027- October 2027
Department Field Services Coordination
Job Purpose To monitor and report on political parties’ activities at the constituency level to ensure adherence to the Constitution, the Political Parties Act, and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties, and to support peaceful, lawful, and transparent electoral processes.
Reporting to County Monitor
Duty Station Field Offices – Across Counties and Constituencies
Remuneration A consolidated Monthly Gross Salary of KSh. 65,000
Job Specification

 

Duties and responsibilities
 The specific duties and responsibilities will entail:

  1. Monitoring compliance by political parties with the Constitution, the Political Parties Act and the Code of Conduct for Political Parties at the constituency level;
  2. Liaising with relevant government agencies on the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Political Parties;
  3. Reporting findings arising during campaigns and elections, including election petitions, to the County Monitor;
  4. Sensitizing political parties and candidates on the Code of Conduct for Political Parties and other relevant laws; and
  5. Preparing reports on the pre-election, election and post-election activities of political parties.
Person Specification

 

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –

  1. A Bachelors’ degree in any of the following fields: Laws, Public Administration, Education, Political Science or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
  2. Certificate in computer applications;
  3. Be a Kenyan citizen;
  4. Have analytical skills;
  5. Be competent in report writing;
  6. Be willing to work anywhere within Kenya;
  7. Must be a resident of the Constituency they wish to work in; and
  8. Met the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
