Duties and responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities entail:-

Writing and testing computer programs;
Verifying, enhancing and testing computer programs;
Providing user support;
Monitoring performance and Implementing preventive maintenance of servers and other ICT equipment;
Maintain an up-to-date ICT inventory and asset management register;

Job Specification
For appointment to this grade an officer must have: –

Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ three (3) of which must be at the grade of ICT Officer or in a comparable position;
Degree in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Information Technology or other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution;
Relevant professional certification. in any of the following fields:
Systems AND Server Administration technical certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, COMPTIA;

Programming, Database and System Deployment technical certifications such as MCSD, SQL, AWS, Oracle;

Security and data protection technical certifications such as CISM, CISA, ethical hacking

Project management technical certifications such as PMP; PRINCE2;
Experience with ICT project management and implementation;
Proven experience in ICT support and administration, with a strong technical background in IT systems and networks;
Familiarity with ICT procurement processes and vendor management;
Membership in ISACA or a relevant professional body;
Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles and best practices; and
Knowledge of cyber security threats and counter measures with experience implementing security controls and measures.
